Valencia have announced the double signing of defenders Jeison Murillo and Gabriel Paulista from Inter and Arsenal respectively.
A joint-statement on Valencia’s official website notes they have signed Murillo on a two-year loan with an obligatory purchase option in 2019, reportedly set at €13m, while Gabriel arrives permanently on a five-year contract, for a said fee of €11m.
“Valencia CF have reached agreement with FC Internazionale Milano for the transfer, for two seasons with a compulsory purchase option, of Colombia centre-back Jeison Murillo,” it began.
“The player, like Gabriel Paulista, will be unveiled on Saturday, August 19 in the Media Center at the Paterna training complex.
“Valencia Club de Futbol have [also] reached agreement with Arsenal FC for the permanent transfer of Gabriel Armando de Abreu, Gabriel Paulista.
“The Brazilian player will be linked to the Valencian club for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2022, with a release clause of €80m.”
Murillo joined the Italian giants from Granada in 2015 but fell out of favour towards the end of last season, whereas Gabriel struggled to impose himself in his two-and-a-half years at the Emirates Stadium, having arrived from Villarreal.
