Barca’s €100m Coutinho bid rejected

Liverpool have rejected Barcelona’s second offer for Philippe Coutinho, thought to be in the region of €100m, according to various media reports.

Sources across both Spain and England state the Blaugrana bid was comprised of a lump sum payment of €85m alongside €15m in ‘easily attainable add-ons’.

Earlier this month, an initial approach for the former Inter playmaker of €80m was rejected by the Premier League side, but Barca were said to be confident their second offer would trigger the start of negotiations.

Reports in Spain suggest the Brazilian has agreed personal terms with Barca and is keen on a move with Liverpool insisting he is not for sale at any price.

Coutinho, 25, is viewed as a primary transfer target for the Catalan club alongside Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele following the sale of Neymar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain for €222m earlier this month.
