Espanyol’s Caicedo to Lazio

Lazio’s move for Espanyol’s Felipe Caicedo is back on with the striker reportedly set to fly into the Italian capital to complete his medical.

Sky Sport Italia report the Ecuadorian will undergo his medical examinations on Friday but the deal will not be confirmed until one of the club’s non-EU players (said to be Bryan Perea, Mauricio and Filip Djordjevic) are sold.

The Biancocelesti thought a deal had collapsed after the striker’s Spanish citizenship was not officially recognised outside of Spain but they will now readjust their squad.

Sky say the transfer fee will be €3m but a separate report in Sportitalia claims it is closer to €5m including bonuses.

Having had spells at Manchester City, Malaga, Sporting CP, Basel, Lokomotiv Moscow and Levante only netted twice in 27 league appearances for Espanyol last season.
