Sporting Gijon defender Jorge Mere is undergoing a medical at German club Koln ahead of a reported €7m move, according to reports.
Sports journalist Maria Candelario tweeted the 20-year-old was currently at the Bundesliga side and will sign a four-year deal.
On Wednesday night, La Nueva Espana reported the Spain Under 21 international was ‘deciding on his future’ with a choice between Koln and Serie A side Sampdoria, having discounted a move to Malaga.
Mere made 61 appearances for Sporting’s first team, with 56 of them coming in the top flight over the last two campaigns.
