Real Betis are set to invest the €16.5m they received from the sale of Dani Ceballos into strengthening their squad ahead of next season.
The 20-year-old moved to Real Madrid on a six-year deal, becoming the 13th first-team squad player to leave Los Verdiblancos this summer with only six arrivals.
Diario AS reports that whilst the club are still expecting more players to move on – Roman Zozulya and Aissa Mandi top the list – they are now working hard on more arrivals.
Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Javi Garcia is said to top the club’s shopping list – the former Real Madrid, Benfica and Manchester City midfielder is said to be available for €4m.
In terms of defensive options, FC Porto’s Spanish defender Ivan Marcano and Moroccan Zouhair Feddal, Alaves, are also being targeted.
However, Marcano has travelled with the Portuguese giants on their pre-season tour to Mexico while Feddal is also a target of Southampton.
Following Ruben Castro’s loan move to China, Betis may also move for a new striker to compliment Sergio Leon and Antonio Sanabria up front.
