‘Betis an easy option’ – Amat

Jordi Amat insists Real Betis was ‘the easy option’ for him following the conclusion of a loan deal with Swansea City.

The 25-year-old has signed a one-year loan deal with Los Verdiblancos which also includes an option to buy, should he excel at the club this season.

"Betis was the easy option; both the Coach and the entire project is trying to play good football,” Amat told his introductory press conference.

“The reception here was amazing, I really must thank the fans and also the Lorenzo Serra Ferrer for helping this deal go through.

“This is a really strong team and we are all excited – having Joaquin as my captain is incredible and there is a lot of quality here.

“Yes I have only signed here for one year but there is an option and I am hopeful that this one is successful and we can proceed from there.

“Everybody here knows how much this club has underachieved recently so we have one aim – to finish with many more points in a much higher position.”

The Barcelona-native moved to Swansea in 2013 and made 52 Premier League appearances at the Liberty Stadium, before becoming the sixth signing of the summer for Betis.
