Barcelona star Lionel Messi donated all leftover food and drinks from his wedding to a local Rosario food bank, it is claimed.
The 30-year-old married Antonella Roccuzzo in his home city late last month at an event which included almost 300 guests, including a plethora of football stars.
"All types and levels of donations are very well received by us and honestly, we are delighted they took us into consideration," Nadia Nazer, Rosario food bank manager, told La Capital.
"One of the organisers of the wedding got in contact with our executive director to offer us snacks, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks.
"We told them that we had to exchange the alcoholic beverages for money as we cannot give them to institutions.
"We have friends who own bars and they buy them from us and that allows us to transform it into money as a donation to the food bank."
