PSG want La Real’s Yuri

Paris Saint-Germain are targeting a deal for Real Sociedad’s Yuri Berchiche although the Basque club could demand his full €30m release clause, say reports.

According to Marca, the French giants are keen on the full back although La Real would be reluctant to sanction a deal below his release clause due to his contract running until 2020.

PSG Coach Unai Emery is said to be a big fan of the 27-year-old and is seeking to replace the retired Maxwell in his squad and despite the Parisians having a large war-chest to reinvest in their squad this summer, it is likely they will try to negotiate down Yuri’s clause.

The player is said to be open to a move to a club where he can compete for league titles and Champions League football although will not force a move away from San Sebastian.

Yuri, who started his career at Cheltenham Town in England, started 35 La Liga matches last campaign as La Real qualified for Europe.
