Antoine Griezmann has confirmed that he will stay at Atletico Madrid this summer “because it’s a difficult time” for the club.
Griezmann had been heavily linked with Manchester United, but the Frenchman admits leaving Atleti now that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has maintained Los Colchoneros’ summer transfer ban would be “a bad move”.
“CAS has decided to maintain my club’s sanction of not being able to sign players,” he told Telefoot.
“Together with my advisor, Eric Olhats, I’ve decided to stay because it’s a difficult time for Atletico.
“It’d be a bad move to leave now. We’ll continue together next season.
“The questions about my future have been quite unbearable.”
