Casemiro defends discipline

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is adamant he was not lucky to avoid a second yellow card in his side’s 4-1 triumph at Celta Vigo.

The Brazil international was booked on the half hour mark but the hosts believed referee Martinez Munuera should have shown the 25-year-old a second yellow card in the second half.

"The first foul was a yellow, no doubt, but the second wasn't as I tried to avoid the contact,” Casemiro explained on Cadena Ser after the game.

"I am not going to change my way of playing. In 100 games at Madrid I have never once been sent off. I always think that and remain relaxed about it. People can think what they like.

"The referee did a good job. He did not have any influence on the result."

Casemiro has picked up 13 yellow cards in 37 appearances across all competitions this season for Los Blancos.
