Bellerin top Barca target – report

Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin has emerged as Barcelona’s top transfer target this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Marca state the 22-year-old will be the Blaugrana’s number one priority in the transfer market to follow up on earlier reports in El Mundo Deportivo and Diario Sport that he could be destined for the Camp Nou, despite signing a six-year deal in North London earlier this season.

The Catalans have a shortage of right-sided full-backs following the departure of Dani Alves to Juventus along with Aleix Vidal’s poor form and long-injury layoff, leaving Sergi Roberto as the makeshift full-back.

Bellerin graduated through Barca’s La Masic academy before moving to North London in 2011, where he has made 102 appearances across four seasons in the first-team squad, scoring three goals.

The reports states Arsenal will demand €40m for the full-back, while last month Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez admitted any deal ‘would be difficult’.
