Dybala: Juve renewal very close

Paulo Dybala insists “I’m very happy at Juventus” and that a new contract with the Bianconeri “is very close”, in a further blow to Barcelona.

Dybala scored twice as Juve defeated Barca 3-0 to take a commanding lead in their Champions League quarter-final tie, and the Argentine forward asserted he was “very happy” with the Old Lady, despite reportedly telling the club that he wanted out.

“I’m very happy at Juventus, my renewal is very close and I want to take advantage of what I’m experiencing here,” he told Mega after the game.

“I’ll try to give a lot of joy to my fans.

“We knew it was going to be a game like this, Barcelona left many spaces behind, attacked a lot and left gaps that we knew we had to take advantage of. We were lethal.

“With Chiellini’s goal, we were able to kill off the match and we secured a positive result.

“Barca had some chances to score, it was very important not to concede. It’ll be different [at Camp Nou], with all the Barca fans, but we’ll give our all.

“The 6-1? We’re not thinking about that, we’ll bask in what we’ve done here and on Sunday we’ll think about Barcelona again.

“We know Barca, we’ll give our best to get a good result in Barcelona and go through.

“We’re not going to throw ourselves behind the ball, we have to come out and press them because we’ll surely have chances [to win] ourselves.”
