Casemiro rued Real Madrid’s “lack of focus” after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Atletico in the Derbi on Saturday.
Antoine Griezmann’s late goal stunned Madrid, who were the team on top for most of the afternoon, and Casemiro agreed that his side had “a great game” but should have put their arch-rivals out of sight.
“We were having a great game, but a lack of focus resulted in the draw,” he said after the game.
“We should offer them our congratulations, but we need to be a little more focused.
“They pressed more and we had the chance to score two or three more goals.
“It’s important to always pick up points, especially against a great team like Atletico.
“We’re still top of La Liga and there are still many points up for grabs.”
