Former Barcelona president Agusti Montal – most famed for bringing Johan Cruyff to the club – has passed away at the age of 82.
Montal president over the Catalan club between 1969 and 1977, five years into his reign the club won La Liga to end a 14-year wait.
"Barcelona express their sorrow for the death of Agusti Montal Costa, president of the club between 1969 and 1977, who left us on Wednesday at 82 years of age,” read a Barca statement.
"Barcelona wish to convey their deepest condolences to the family, with whom they are sharing these moments of pain, along with members, supporters of the club and the world of football."
During the club’s training sessions on Wednesday, a minute’s silence was held for Montal.
