Ronaldo best on the wing – ZZ

Zinedine Zidane believes Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys playing more on the wing instead of centrally and is confident he’ll re-find his goal scoring touch.

The Portuguese star has gone two games without a goal and has played largely as a central striker for Los Blancos this season and for Portugal at the European Championships last season, but he may now be reverted back to a wider role.

"He's always played out on the flank," Zidane told a press conference ahead of his side’s trip to Valencia on Wednesday.

"That's his natural position. I'm sure he will score goals. He can play in a variety of positions because he's an outstanding player. But he prefers playing out on the wing. That's where he's scored 300, 400 goals?

"I think it was a cup game (Ronaldo was rested for) if I'm not mistaken, and I'm pretty sure there'll be another game or two when he'll be rested. But he'll play on Wednesday definitely."
