Osasuna Coach Petar Vasiljevic insists his side ‘will not give up until the end’ in their battle to avoid relegation from La Liga.
Los Rojillos have now gone thirteen matches without a victory after their 3-2 defeat at high-flying Real Sociedad on Sunday, but again gave an encouraging performance which saw them take the lead in a closely-fought encounter.
“We will not give up until the end, until it’s mathematically impossible,” explained Vasiljevic after the match.
“I said we would go out and try to win the match – we took the lead and had further chances, but in front of us there is a strong team who are very well organised and have an attacking threat.
“We were perhaps a little bit unlucky – Jaime’s shot at the end was stopped by the goalkeeper and the crossbar between them, but that’s football and we must move on.”
Osasuna remain eight points off safety while Real Sociedad are one point off fourth-placed Atletico Madrid.
