Luis Enrique says “it’s funny how things change” as Barcelona’s Press room “seemed like a funeral parlour three weeks ago”.
Barca’s form in the weeks leading up to winter break came under scrutiny, as did Enrique’s position as Coach, but the Catalans have gone on to win their last five games – helped by Real Madrid’s sudden slump.
“Betis? They’ve gone through changes since the first half of the season, mainly due to a change of Coach,” the trainer said at a Press conference ahead of Sunday’s early kick-off against Real Betis.
“Here, they play with five defenders. Victor has been playing with this system for a while.
“I’m sure that Betis, at their stadium and for their upturn in form, will try to cause us problems, but we’ve found the level to fight and be effective. It’ll be complicated.
“Our good run of form? It’s funny how things change. This [room] seemed like a funeral parlour three weeks ago.
“Things are more modest now. It’s neither black nor white. All Coaches look for good runs to get into a good dynamic.
“We’ll try to extend ours, especially as there are teams above us.”
