Diego Simeone wants ‘more consistency’ from his Atletico Madrid attackers after the club’s worst first half of La Liga under the Argentine.
Los Rojiblancos are in fifth place and lie six points off third-placed Barcelona with the club’s four strikers netting only 19 goals in the 19 league games to date – Antoine Griezmann scoring eight of them.
"With forwards it is about the moment, different situations," said Simeone, who’s side are through to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey after defeating Eibar 5-2 on aggregate.
"But there is a balance between the calm which they get from their coach and their teammates, and the internal strength which makes them rebel against situations.
"We have very good forwards with different characteristics. That is good for the team, but I hope they have more consistency, which the team needs."
