Luis Enrique believes that any of La Liga’s top four sides can win the title this season following Real Madrid’s unbeaten run ending on Sunday.
Madrid lost 2-1 at Sevilla to mean that only two points covered the top three sides – although Zinedine Zidane’s side have played a game less – with Atletico Madrid three points further back, but Enrique believes it is now an open title race.
"It was a positive weekend for us because we got three points, which is all we can do to put pressure on those above us," Luis Enrique said in a news conference on Wednesday.
"I always want the teams ahead of us to lose.
“It's the halfway stage of the season, there are four teams leading the way and all the teams deserve to be where they are. They are all title candidates. It would be foolish to write off any of the top four."
Next up for the Catalans is a trip to Real Sociedad in Thursday night’s Copa Del Rey before returning to league action against at Eibar on Sunday.
