Sevilla admit Monchi may leave

Sevilla president Jose Castro has hinted sporting director Monchi may leave the club by stating 'you can not force someone to be where they don't want to'.

Speculation has been rife that the much-famed Monchi will leave his position after 17 years this summer with Italian giants AS Roma strong linked.

“You can not force someone to be where they do not want to be," Castro told Cadena Ser when asked on the sporting director’s future.

Despite Sunday night’s win taking them to within a point of league leaders Real Madrid, the Sevilla president said they must keep their ‘feet on the ground’ and a Champions League spot was their target.

“We are very satisfied but we have to keep our feet on the ground – the League is not for us, it is for Real Madrid and Barcelona to try and win,” he added.

“We are realists, we do not give anything but our goal is to qualify for the Champions League.”
