Luis Suarez has confirmed he is close to finalising a new long-term deal at Barcelona, after reports in Spain he has signed a new five-year contract.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo report that the Uruguayan will become the latest contract extension to be announced after the international break, suggesting that a deal until June 2021 will be confirmed.
"Everything is on the right path," Suarez told reporters of agent Pere Guardiola's discussions with Barca.
"We're finalising the talks. I'm at the club I always wanted to be at."
The 29-year-old suggested last month that he wanted to retire at Camp Nou and looks set to follow in the steps of Javier Mascherano, Sergio Busquets and Neymar in committing their long-term futures to the club.
