Courtois rules out Madrid move

Thibaut Courtois has denied he has made any contact with Real Madrid and confirmed he is happy at current club Chelsea.

The Belgian goalkeeper had been linked with a return to the Spanish capital – having previously played for Atletico on loan from the London club – after claiming to Marca in the summer that he loved the Spanish lifestyle.

"I never had anything with Real Madrid. I did not see anything published, but I never had any contact with Real Madrid,” Courtois told Cadena Cope.

"I am happy at Chelsea. Everything is going very well — it is a great club. There is no reason not to be happy at Chelsea. You never know what will happen in the future, but at the moment I am very well, in a very good atmosphere."

The 24-year-old also ruled out any return to Atletico Madrid, where he spent three seasons on loan.

"There was never any talk about a possible return to Atletico. Oblak is doing very well and I am happy about that,” he continued.

“These are rumours that come out from people who do not know anything."
