Barcelona’s Luis Suarez dedicated his Golden Shoe victory to his family in an emotional acceptance speech on Thursday.
The Uruguayan striker accepted the award with his two children and he broke down during his speech when praising his family for all they had done for him.
“This desire to come here and to have the possibility to be top scorer is something I never imagined or aspired to when I came here, not for one moment,” Suarez explained.
“I only wanted to be a champion and to win the Champions League, which we did!
“And of course, to my three darlings that came here with me – today, it’s a dream for me to dedicate this prize to my beautiful children in honour of the joy they give me off the pitch – thank you very much.”
