Luis Enrique has reacted to news that Lionel Messi will be out of action by stating that he'd be a loss for football, not just Barcelona.
Enrique was speaking after his side's 1-1 draw against Atletico on Wednesday night, where it was revealed that Messi had damaged his right adductor muscle in his leg and is expected to miss the next three weeks of action.
"Missing Lionel Messi is a big loss for football, for everyone, not just us and we are sorry about that," said the 46-year-old after the game.
"Anyway, we had something similar to that last year except he was out for even longer and the team performed well in that time
"We should start looking for different solutions.
"It is clear we are stronger with Messi but without him we are strong too so we must focus on that.
"We must ask the team to keep improving as this is the direction we must now take – seeking to win as much and play as well as possible."
