The 2016-17 La Liga season is under way and the Football Espana team have had their say on how the campaign will go…
Barcelona retained the title last year, sealing a second straight success on the final day from second-placed Real Madrid and our team are backing the Blaugrana once more.
Indeed, the Football Espana contributors see Atletico Madrid pipping their capital city rivals to second and expect Jorge Sampaoli’s Sevilla to round out the top four.
Villarreal are tipped for fifth – but that was before Marcelino quit and was replaced by Fran Escriba – and little improvement on last year is forecast at Valencia.
Two out of this season’s three newly-promoted teams are in line for disappointment if our prognostications are correct, with only Osasuna escaping an immediate return to what is now known as La Liga 2.
