Carlo Ancelotti believes Zinedine Zidane has the charisma needed to be Real Madrid Coach. ‘That’s most important to deal with the players.’
Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich meet Zidane’s Madrid in a pre-season friendly and having had Zizou as his assistant for a year at Santiago Bernabeu, the Italian spoke highly of his opposite number.
“He was my assistant, he won the Champions League last year and I wish him well. Especially in Spain, but less so in Europe. We talked a lot when he was my assistant and I was convinced he had what it took to lead Madrid. He has experience, he was a great player and he has charisma, which is the most important when dealing with the players,” AS quotes Ancelotti as saying.
“Everyone has their style, their thoughts and personality. A team is never the Coach, it’s the club. Madrid is Madrid and Bayern is Bayern. The club is more important than the Coach.
“The match will be special, because I have great memories of Madrid. I really want to see the people with whom I worked for two years. It’s a friendly, the last of our tour and before the official games, I hope it’s a good game for us. It’s a new experience to face Madrid.
“James Rodriguez? He’s a great player, no one needs to tell me that. He’s a serious professional, a humble person. He had a great first year, more difficulties in the second, but he has everything to succeed again.”
