Ronaldo for Ballon d’Or, admits Neymar

Barcelona star Neymar has conceded the 2016 Ballon d’Or to his Real Madrid rival Cristiano Ronaldo as “conquering trophies counts for a lot”.

Neymar won a domestic double with Barca and scored 31 goals last season but failed to win the Champions League or lead Brazil to Copa America glory, whereas Ronaldo netted more and lifted both the European cup with Madrid and Euro 2016 as a Portugal player.

“Conquering trophies counts for a lot,” the forward told Lance.

“He won the Champions League and now the Euros. He’s very close [to the Ballon d’Or]. Cristiano is a great player, I’m not hesitant on this.”
