Negredo nearing Boro move?

Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo is reportedly on the verge of joining Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.

Marca claims to have confirmation that an agreement will be found in negotiations between Negredo and Middlesbrough, managed by former Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka.

The deal would see Los Che save €7m on the salary front, which would go towards recouping the €30m they spent on buying the former Spain international from Manchester City last summer.

There is also hope that Negredo will have a good season in the Premier League so he can be sold at a high price next year.

Marca adds Karanka has also enquired about Valencia right-back Antonio Barragan, who is thought to be expendable.

The Premier League new boys have already secured ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes and defender Bernardo Espinosa from Sporting Gijon.
