Barca first for Gabriel, Madrid not yet

Barcelona were reportedly the first club to make a formal offer to Palmeiras for Gabriel Jesus while Real Madrid have yet to solidify their interest.

AS reports Barca, Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United can all sign the in-demand forward for €24m due to past agreements with his club which entitle them to a discount, whereas Serie A suitors Inter, who have no such deal, are looking at a €40m price tag.

They’re willing it to pay it, however, and are with Barca the only other club to have approached Palmeiras officially to sign the 19-year-old.

Barca could try to get the price lowered further still as they would have to pay the €24m up front.

Madrid are known to have watched and considered Gabriel but haven’t yet put money on the table, though it’s expected they will in the next few days.
