Lionel Messi assures “I’ve always said that I’m happy at Barcelona” after celebrating his 29th birthday on Thursday.
Speaking to Sport from Argentina’s hotel ahead of their Copa America final against Chile on Monday, Messi made it clear reports of his unhappiness at Barca in light of his tax-fraud case were way off the mark as he looked forward to “many more years” at Camp Nou.
“I feel very good physically and mentally. I’m still having so much fun whenever I go out on the pitch,” the No 10 revealed.
“I’ve always said that I’m happy at Barcelona and for as the club and fans want me, I’ll be happy to help them on new challenges.
“If injuries respect me and I still have some luck, my intention is to play for many more years.”
