Sevilla lurking for Sanchez Flores

Quique Sanchez Flores is expected to be named the new Coach of Espanyol despite Sevilla lurking as they prepare to replace Unai Emery.

AS reports Los Rojiblancos are on the scene with Emery expected to be appointed by Paris Saint-Germain, Sanchez Flores, recently of Watford, considered a contender to replace the three-time Europa League winner.

But AS says barring some unforeseen twist Sanchez Flores will be appointed by Los Periquitos, who sacked Constantin Galca at the end of the season, and his three assistants, Alberto Giraldez, Antonio Diaz and Jose Luis Gallardo will come too.

Espanyol’s CEO, Robert Ramon, is finalising the agreement but the sides are in disagreement over a clause that says Espanyol can’t break the contract if Sanchez Flores gets the team into the top eight in the first year.

Mundo Deportivo meanwhile claim Sevilla’s possible presence on the horizon is what has led to a delay in Espanyol announcing Sanchez Flores, but the Catalan publication still expect the deal to be confirmed. MD add elsewhere that Michel is also an option for Espanyol.
