Neymar deal after Copa final?

Barcelona hope to begin their summer transfer market after the Copa del Rey Final by announcing the terms of Neymar’s contract renewal.

Sport cites a report from Catalunya Radio which claims a meeting was held on Tuesday to discuss the Brazil international’s deal, with the hope of making an announcement shortly after the Cup final between Barca and Sevilla.

Neymar will sign a new contract to run until 2021 – his existing deal going to 2018 – and his escape clause will be raised from €190m to more than €200m, with Barca wanting to send a message to the transfer market that Neymar isn’t for sale.

Sport adds that Barca and Neymar’s camp had previously agreed a general outline of the contract, which will see his wages increase, as well as the duration and clause, and all that is essentially lacking is the agreement being formalised.
