Line-ups: Atleti-Bayern

Stefan Savic is preferred to Lucas Hernandez as Atletico Madrid take on Bayern Munich without defensive lynchpin Diego Godin this evening.

Godin is currently being treated for a “grade I-II injury in the biceps femoris muscle of his right thigh”, which may keep him out of the return leg in Germany, and Diego Simeone is banking on experience in the Uruguayan’s absence.

Atleti’s only other change sees Yannick Carrasco make way for Augusto Fernandez as Cholo opts for a narrow-looking midfield to combat the pace of Pep Guardiola’s men via Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa in the wide areas.

Coman is one of six new faces from the Bayern side that beat Hertha Berlin 2-0 as a sextet of their big hitters, including Spaniards Juan Bernat, Xabi Alonso, Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara, return to the starting line-up, although Jerome Boateng is injured and Thomas Muller is only a substitute.

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Lahm, Martinez, Alaba, Bernat; Vidal, Alonso, Thiago; Coman, Lewandowski, Costa
