Valencia to make huge Mou bid?

Reports from Britain claim Valencia will put together a giant financial package to convince Jose Mourinho to take over next season.

Gary Neville was sacked on Wednesday and Mourinho has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in December, Pako Ayestaran succeeding the former and ex-Valencia Coach Guus Hiddink taking over from the latter.

AS cites reports from Britain that say Los Che will pay Mourinho €19m-a-year and a signing bonus of €12.5m to return to Spain.

Mourinho was in charge at Real Madrid before returning to Stamford Bridge, and was also part of the Barca staff before branching out on his own.

The Portuguese has been strongly linked with succeeding ex-Barca boss Louis van Gaal at Manchester United but it’s hinted that there are doubts about making the move at Old Trafford.

Mourinho’s agent is Jorge Mendes, a confidant of Valencia owner Peter Lim, and Mourinho and Lim did meet in Singapore in February.

AS notes Mourinho was linked to the vacancy at Valencia created by the sacking of Nuno Santo in December, the one eventually filled by Neville, but Mourinho was still employed at Chelsea at that point, and he distanced himself from the speculation.
