Atletico Madrid want to tie down Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez for even longer than the four years remaining on their respective contracts.
AS reports that despite both players’ terms running to 2020, the intention of the club this summer is to offer renewals to ward off interest from elsewhere and confirm their status at the club.
The intention is to raise Griezmann’s clause to €100m, with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid said to have eyes on the France international.
Saul, meanwhile, is considered the player to have most developed this season and his improvement has been noticed across Europe.
The Premier League is said to have many suitors for the midfielder and in return Atleti want to increase his terms, including raising his €45m clause.
Saul is understood to want a contract in the same bracket as Griezmann and Koke and the club expect an agreement ‘sooner or later.’
