Gerard Pique believes Barcelona have more variations to their style under Luis Enrique even if they still want to hog possession.
AS reports the centre-back speaking to UEFA about Lucho’s tactics, and acknowledged how the Coach has altered the approach to give Barca more ways of winning.
“We have more variants now. We’re more comfortable defending, dropping back a bit and going on the counter-attack,” Pique noted.
“We still want the ball and possession. We want to control the tempo. I think we have more chances on goal, but this variation is a plus.
“The goal at Arsenal is a very clear example of this. It gives us something we didn’t have. I remember before the space behind was harder to defend. We didn’t like it and were very uncomfortable.
“Now we’re more comfortable and we know we have three forwards who are very quick and can exploit any counter. That makes us confident in both controlling the ball and not controlling it to have options to win the game.”
