Barca ‘want Busquets sent home’

Barcelona are reportedly pushing to have Sergio Busquets released from the Spain squad due to a broken finger.

AS reports the Catalans are fearful Busquets’ injury will worsen while he is on international duty and leave him at risk for the Clasico against Real Madrid, which comes on April 2, immediately after the international break.

Busquets suffered the injury against Eibar on March 6 and has played and trained since without further problems, but has had protection on the afflicted digit, the ring finger of his right hand.

It’s noted, however, that Busquets would prefer to remain with La Roja for the games against Italy and Romania, and Vicente Del Bosque wants him there as well, but the Spanish Football Federation is expected to accede to Barca’s wishes and send home the midfielder.
