Luis Suarez felt Barcelona “proved” a point during Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal in the Champions League last 16.
Suarez, along with his strike partners Neymar and Lionel Messi, fired Barca to a 5-1 aggregate triumph against Arsenal, who threatened to come back momentarily through Mohamed Elneny, and the Uruguayan reflected on the importance of killing the tie off after the game.
“We needed to control the game when it was 2-1 because we knew about their physical condition and because they had the result going against them,” he was quoted as saying by UEFA.com.
“We knew they were going to go and take the game to us. In the end we proved we are strong here and made home advantage count.”
