Griezmann: I can score on Saturday

Antoine Griezmann is targeting Saturday’s Madrid derby to return to the goal trail after Atletico Madrid drew a blank at PSV Eindhoven.

The Champions League Round of 16 first leg finished goalless in the Netherlands and Griezmann’s mini drought extends to one goal in his last eight appearances, despite a good chance on Wednesday night.

“It isn’t easy. It was a difficult game and I was prepared to respond and work backwards,” he said, AS reports, after the final whistle.

“It’s a shame, I had a clear chance, but made a little mistake and the goalkeeper did very well. Hopefully I can score on Saturday.

“I got my foot wrong under the ball so it didn’t go as high as I would like. It’s a move I like and have done several times and will continue to do so.

“It was more difficult when they were down to 10 because they dropped back, but we have to work as we are and keep going.

“We’re very comfortable at home with the fans that push us in every play. I’m sure we’ll do fine.”
