Ronaldo ‘hopes to play this poorly…’

Cristiano Ronaldo said that if the form he has displayed in recent Real Madrid games is ‘poor,’ he hopes it continues for the rest of the season.

It was put to the Portuguese during a Press conference appearance to preview the Champions League game against Roma that he hasn’t been at his best this season.

“It’s normal, or that’s how I see it. When you raise your son poorly and give him everything, and then suddenly stop, he cries,” Ronaldo said, AS reports.

“I’ve spoiled people. I hope I continue this poorly until the end of the season…

“Tell me a player who has scored more away goals than I have since I came to Spain. There isn’t one.

“Away games are usually more difficult. We’re playing against a very good team with good players and a great Coach, but we’re convinced we’re playing and training well so we’re confident.

“I feel the same way about the Champions League as I do the League. I want to have fun and help Madrid win. The competition is special, but I always want to do a good job.

“We’re playing against a team supported by its fans, but we’ll try to play well and win the game.

“The team is improving after [Zinedine] Zidane came in. It’s noted as the game pass that we are good and we are winning matches.”
