Gerard Pique agrees Barcelona are favourites to end the season as champions of La Liga and if they don’t, it’ll be down to their mistakes.
Barca are three points clear at the top of the Primera after Saturday’s win over Atletico Madrid, having been level on points with Los Colchoneros prior to kick off, and Barca still have a game in hand.
“The League isn’t won but we’re in a very good situation and if we don’t win it’s our fault and we can’t let that happen,” Pique said after Mundo Deportivo’s 110th anniversary gala.
“We’ve played tough opponents in the Copa del Rey and we’ve played a lot of games in the afternoon, which isn’t ideal, but we accept it like anyone else.
“I like that people aren’t happy because it makes us all the more careful.
“We never like to lose. We don’t like the feeling, either personally or collectively. Sometimes as good as you are you can’t win, but we hope to continue winning.
“We do what we do well and now we have to enjoy it and try to be the best.”
Pique added that he is enjoying his football so much that he can see playing on longer, having originally anticipated a relatively short career.
“I’m enjoying it and I used to think my career would be short, but little my little I like this profession,” he confirmed.
