‘Griezmann good enough for Barca’

Claudio Bravo believes former Real Sociedad teammate Antoine Griezmann, now at Atletico Madrid, is on Barcelona’s level.

Bravo and Griezmann will be on opposing sides this weekend when La Liga’s top two meet and the goalkeeper was asked about his ex-colleague.

“I’m pleasantly surprised by him. He’s been to my house, I’ve given him advice, a pull on the ear when he’s gone the wrong way,” the Chile international said, Marca reports.

“He’s done well. He’s matured quickly. He knew he had to work hard and take care. He was very restless. Now he’s a world-class player. He has more than enough to play for Barca.”

Bravo added that there is no question among La Blaugrana that Atletico are capable of claiming a second title in three years.

“It’s clear. Atletico are a very serious entity. They have a good Coach, great players and it’s to be expected they’re up there,” he continued.

“The way they compete and don’t give up makes them a difficult opponent. They have a super-clear idea, and good players line-by-line. They know how they play.”

Bravo was also questioned regarding a fellow goalkeeper, Spain No 1 Iker Casillas, who has come in for criticism at Porto.

“He’s had very harsh treatment. His great career isn’t being appreciated. He’s being mistreated after everything he’s achieved,” Bravo said of the former Real Madrid custodian.
