Enrique prefers attacking additions

Luis Enrique confirmed he wants to bolster the Barcelona attack in the winter, and said there’ve been no Marc Bartra exit talks.

Enrique appeared before the Press to preview the Copa del Rey second leg against Espanyol but was asked about the January transfer window as well as the derby.

“I think [I’d prefer to add] in attack, but I’d also like to reinforce all areas,” he said, when questioned, AS reports, having been linked with Nolito and Denis Suarez.

“For signings to arrive there have to be negotiations, and negotiations are always hard. No one wants to lose important players. It’s not an easy market.”

The future of Bartra was in the wake of suggestions he could move from Camp Nou this month, Enrique suggesting that’s not likely to happen.

“I haven’t spoken to him. It’s not that our squad is too big, even though we have gained reinforcements,” Enrique continued.

“I think Marc can greatly improve the level because he has the potential to do so, and I invite him to continue training as he has done so he can take advantage of opportunities.”
