Malaga join Kakuta race

Malaga have joined Granada and Rayo Vallecano in following the situation of Gael Kakuta at Sevilla, though Sevilla insist he isn’t leaving.

Sevilla picked up Kakuta on a free transfer in the summer after his Chelsea contract expired but the 24-year-old had spent the final season of his Stamford Bridge deal under Paco Jemez at Rayo, one of six loan spells during his time on the Blues’ books.

Injuries have hampered Kakuta’s contribution at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and Rayo hoped to exploit that with a loan bid, but Sevilla say they want Kakuta to stay.

Granada and now Malaga are similarly interested in the former France Under-21 international, but have been similarly rebuffed.
