UEFA have rejected Barcelona’s appeal against punishment for the display of Estelada flags and so the club is going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Barca confirmed on Wednesday that the European governing body had dismissed their appeal against sanctions received for the presence of pro-Catalan independence flags at Camp Nou in the Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen.
La Blaugrana’s official website notes the appeal to CAS was presented ‘immediately’ while Mundo Deportivo add it was expected UEFA would reject the club’s appeal and the issue would be directed to CAS.
