Report: Guardiola to leave Bayern

Pep Guardiola has reportedly informed his bosses at Bayern Munich that he’ll leave the club, rejecting a ‘super-offer’ of €20m-per-season.

Marca reports the former Barcelona Coach is firm in his decision to leave at the end of the season, feeling the strain of living up to his work ethic is becoming too much.

It’s pointed out that he’s not in the same place as he was when he stepped away from Camp Nou, but his mind is made up and he’ll be leaving his post.

Bayern put a figure of €20m a year on the table to keep Guardiola on the bench, reports in the German Press said, but money wasn’t the problem for the Catalan.

A move to the Premier League could be forthcoming with Manchester City having two former Barca executives in their ranks, and it has been claimed City and Guardiola already have an agreement despite the presence of Manuel Pellegrini as manager.

There may also be interest from Manchester United, where Guardiola’s former Barca boss Louis Van Gaal is in situ.
