‘Atleti have to show we want to improve’

Antoine Griezmann believes the Atletico Madrid players have to demonstrate their desire every time they take to the pitch.

Griezmann was speaking after being named the Atletico player of the month for November and touched on his individual form before referencing the team.

“I’m happy with my performances. I hope to reach the goal target I set myself at the start of the year, to get better numbers, and to keep learning, which I’m doing every day,” he said, AS reports.

“We have to work, to give everything and show on the pitch that we want to improve on last year and that we’re on a good road.”

Griezmann also made note of the fans’ reception at Vicente Calderon and looked ahead to Champions League opponents PSV Eindhoven.

“[The fans] support me, they sing a lot to cheer on the team, whoever comes onto the field gets a bit ovation and the truth is we give everything to make them happy with us,” he continued.

“PSV? They’re a team and each team deserves to be at this stage. It will be complicated. We’ll have to be strong and try and score in Eindhoven.”
