Valencia have confirmed that a supporter died in the wake of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona.
According to Marca, the 43-year-old collapsed after he celebrated Santi Mina’s equaliser against the League leaders and fell to his death at around 23:00 GMT as doctors failed to revive him.
“Valencia were sad to learn the irreparable loss of a fan after the match at Mestalla,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“The club extend their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and share their grief.”
The sad news comes less than a month after a fan died during the Galician derby between Deportivo La Coruna and Celta Vigo.
