Enrique plays down Ramos comment

Luis Enrique took no issue with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos telling Barcelona that their success won’t last forever.

Ramos was speaking at the LFP Awards gala and predicted Barca would face a slump, a suggestion with which Enrique didn’t disagree.

“That’s a very clear fact. Football runs on cycles and no one ever wins all the trophies,” AS reports the Coach admitting.

Two Barca players, Lionel Messi and Neymar, are nominated for the Ballon d’Or with Cristiano Ronaldo, and Enrique acknowledged his hope the prize goes to Camp Nou.

“I always want my players to be on these lists, but we have to accept that there are other players at other teams on a good level,” he continued.

“But I would love it if my players were always in the running for these awards.”

Neymar’s name has been attached to further controversy when Barca made a complaint regarding commentary from two former Madrid players, Manolo Sanchis and Poli Rincon, alleging they said Isco’s kick on the Brazil captain in the Clasico was justified.

“Nothing that happens on the field justifies that aggression. That’s all I have to say on that,” Enrique noted.
