Nuno: No more words

Nuno Santo admits the time has come for Valencia to turn “words into results” ahead of Sunday’s trip to Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday.

Los Che only managed a 1-1 draw with Las Palmas last weekend to remain outside the European places, while their Champions League campaign hangs in the balance after a 2-0 defeat to Zenit St Petersburg, but the Coach is convinced his side will respond at Sanchez Pizjuan.

“We’re working hard so our quality will follow,” he said at a Press conference.

“We’re not afraid. We’ve transformed it into a challenge. I see the team with the urgency of changing [our dynamic] and responding [from poor results].

“It’s always good to play at home, but now we’re playing away and we have to compete, respond and give our best.

“What I’m doing is working as hard as I can to transform words into actions. Results, not words, will change things.

“We’re aware that we need consistency. We had a great game in Vigo but against Las Palmas we lacked force.

“The blow [in the Champions League] was not winning our last two games.

“Last season was a struggle until the final match. We competed with Sevilla until the final minute.

“They’re great opponents, with great players and a great Coach, but we’ll respond.”
